Fort Hunter Liggett!


Here are some information you should know before visiting our installations:

  • The U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett conducts 100% identification checks at Fort Hunter Liggett and Parks Reserve Forces Training Area and random vehicle searches.
  • All individuals entering post will be subject to Federal jurisdiction.
  • All individuals entering post must have valid photo identification, and if driving (all vehicles, including motorcycles), must have valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
  • As a general rule, you should be entering post for official business if you are not a resident or employee working on post. Those driving through Fort Hunter Liggett to get to other destinations are subject to same rules outlined above.
  • Media must coordinate visit with the Public Affairs Office prior to visiting and must be escorted at all times.

Post Access Requirements

  • Current drivers license for vehicle operators.
  • Current govt. (federal/state) identification card for passengers and all adults in vehicle.
  • Current proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Current state vehicle registration (temporary or permanent).
  • If driving a rental car, must have rental agreement.
