The Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Inspector General, Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett serves as the eyes, ears, voice and conscience of the Commander, and determines the state of discipline, efficiency, economy, morale, training, and readiness throughout the command, and provides assistance, on an area basis, to Commanders, Soldiers, Family Members, Civilian Employees, Retirees, and others who seek help with problems related to the U. S. Army.
The Inspector General operates within the directives of the Commanding General in accordance with Army Regulation 20-1, Inspector General Activities and Procedures. The IG provides four functions of Assistance, Inspections, Investigations, and most importantly Teach and Train the command on a wide range of issues while maintaining the confidentiality of all concerned.
How do I submit a complaint to an Inspector General (IG)?
A complaint, allegation, and/or request for assistance can be presented to an IG in person, by telephone, FAX, or regular mail.
What is an IGAR?
An IGAR is an Inspector General Action Request, DA Form 1559-R. A complainant completes the IGAR, presents it to an IG, who in turn initiates the appropriate action. When completing an IGAR, please include as much DETAIL as possible (who, what, when, where, how, etc.). This enables the IG to conduct a thorough inquiry.
Who can submit an IGAR?
Anyone can submit an IGAR as long as it concerns an activity of the U.S. Government, specifically the U.S. Army and/or its members.
